Healing Crusade Session 3
Believers are not healed because of the lack of knowledge. Hosea 4: 6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. We miss out because we lack knowledge. Raised in a mainstream denomination, Apostle Bethel had never heard of healing. Not every church teaches about healing and laying on of hands. In order to have faith, we need to hear the Word preached on the healing that we need. If God said that He healed us, then we have to position ourselves to be healed. We are already healed. Sickness does not exist in Christians. We put our trust in doctors but we have to put our trust in God.
“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26
Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3
Unconfessed sin is another reason that we are not healed. Unforgiveness among believers is rampant in the church today. Mark 11:25 exhorts us to forgive those who have hurt us so that God can forgive us. Regardless of what any one has done to us, we have to forgive them. Not forgiving them, hurts us. Psalm 66:18 says that if we regard iniquity in our hearts then God will not hear us. We have to let it go.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25
We have to be doers of the word and not only hearers. People are not healed because they are disobedient to God. They do not follow His commands. If we know the word of God and we do not do it, we are being disobedient. Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). We deceive ourselves when we hear the word and don’t do it. In James 1, it goes on to say that if we are only hearers of the word, we will be like the man who looks at himself in the mirror and goes away and forgets who is. Our identity is in Christ.
