Eye-dentify – Prophet Dwayne Howard

October 20th, 2013

Ps.13:3 Enlighten my eyes lest I sleep the sleep of death.

Matt. 6:22-23 If my eye is bad my whole body will be in darkness, but if it is good, my life will be filled with light.

2 Cor. 3:8 Through Christ, we are able to see God with unveiled eye.

Heb. 1:3 The Son is the exact replication of the Father.

God wants our eyes and when we encounter Him, He wants His Spirit to be so alive in us that we desire the things of Him and His presence satisfies our soul. We will not find ourselves by searching in the world. Our life is hidden with Christ in God, so if we want to find ourselves, we need to ask Him to reveal Himself in us and we must crucify our flesh and “hold God hostage” so to speak until we get what we need from Him. Col. 3:1-3.

We need God’s presence. We are not as connected as we present ourselves to be, but God knows our heart. He is saying to draw near to Him since He can satisfy our hearts.

John 15:15 Jesus said “I no longer call you servant, but friend.” A servant works for his reward, but a friend works with his friend and hangs out with him. God reveals His secrets to His friends and pursuit of Him lifts me from being a servant to a friend.

We need to be fascinated with Jesus. Paul was instructing Timothy when He was caught up in a glorious experience with his God.

Rom. 11:31 We are cut off from God if we persist in disobeying Him and this is how the Gentiles were engrafted into God’s kingdom after the Jews persisted in disobeying Him. We cannot sleep with immorality and idolatry. Let your eyes be enlightened and do not sleep the sleep of death.

John 1:14 It is about the presence of God, not the presents of God i.e. it is not about what God can give us, but about having Him in us. Moses asked God to show him His glory. To be rectified in engineering means to convert an alternating current to direct current. Alternating current can go in two directions as can our Christian lives which can go hard after God and then hard after self. Direct current goes in one direction which is what we need to do. We need our energies to go to God completely. However, we sacrifice eternal fame for temporal acclaim.

Embrace death to self.  Ps.119:37 David implores the Lord to turn his eyes away from empty things and to revive him in His way. We need to be like lights; like cities on a hill. We need to cultivate an appetite that matches our desire. Desire is not enough, we need to have the appetite for the fullness of God. Eph.3:8-20 Paul talks about being granted God’s riches and being enabled with His glory. We are the only created being given access to experience the fullness of God, but if we do not have the appetite to seek after all that God wants for us, we must ask for it. Do not allow how you feel to dictate how you act. Do not compromise your time with God. If you are overbooked, shut down what you are doing and spend time with God.

Jer. 6:16: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. . .”(NIV)
