Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19
We have been given authority to trample upon snakes, scorpions and over all the powers of darkness. We have been given the power but the question is what are we doing with it? Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, the rulers of this dark age and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).
Our power and authority is not only for church and our personal issues but also for national issues. We must know what is happening behind the scenes. We must be aware of the demonic forces that are influencing the minds of people and help to neutralize them. It is our duty to be concerned about the things happening in our nation and do something about it. The church has been given the mandate to shift and to speak to things in the nation. It is not the role of government, they don’t have the authority. We have been given a governmental authority to rule in the earth.
The Church has been anointed to take on national issues, not by speaking about them on media platforms but by speaking directly to the spirits and powers responsible and dismantling strong holds. It is time that we stop fussing, complaining and being overly occupied by our personal problems and deal with the pertinent national issues so that transformation and change can come. It is time for the Church to arise with authority and power. The Church has been given the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 16:17-19). We have the authority to bind and to loose things in heaven and on earth. We can decree and declare a thing and see it come to pass. Demons are supposed to tremble when they see us. They know the authority that we have but do we? The Church is stronger than hell and the devil. No power can stand against the Church. We are called to be violent and take the Kingdom by force. The gates of hell are supposed to fall as we advance, not running after us as some see it.
The Church must be restored back to righteousness in order to be effective. A holy and righteous church is a strong and powerful church. As we shift back into position and alignment, we will see tremendous changes in our nation. Our prayers must be different. No longer can we ask God to do it for us. We have to use the authority and the power that we have to intercede for our nation. Ask God for a national vision. Ask Him to take you behind the scenes and show you what is really happening. Ask Him to open your eyes and to give you strategy to defeat the enemy.
In the beginning, Adam was given power and authority to subdue the earth. God gave him the right to name the animals and whatever he called them, they were. God also raised up ordinary men like Joshua, Elijah and Peter to perform great signs and wonders. Joshua commanded the sun and the moon to stand still and they did (Joshua 10:12-13). Elijah commanded the rain not to fall for three years and it didn’t until he gave the command (1 Kings 17:1, 18:41-46). Peter commanded a man who was lame from birth to get up and walk (Acts 3:1-10).
We are the continuation of the book of Acts. We have been called to walk in the supernatural. We will declare a thing and see it come to pass. No longer are we to be waiting upon God to deal with things that He has given us authority over. No longer will we be praying about things that He has given us the power to change but we will arise and establish the Kingdom of God in the earth. The nation is depending upon us. All creation is waiting for the manifestation of our sonship. We must arise and grab hold of that which has been laid hold of us. We must be in tune with the heart of God concerning our nation and be desperate for change.
God is looking for those who are passionate about the things He cares about, who hate the things that He hates. He’s looking for burning and shining lamps who would prepare the way in the deserts of men’s hearts. Will we say yes? Will we arise in power?
