This God – Minister Allan Howard

(December 8, 2013)

Verses to ponder upon: Rom. 8: 28; Gen:1-1

What comes into your mind when you think about God?

Gen.1-1 In the beginning, God. Before we were, God was and still is. When the earth was without form, light, vegetation or Man, God fashioned creation. God deposited something of Himself in us. God created Man in his own image and because of this, we can use the dominion and power that He has given us to rule in the earth. We “live and move and have our being” in God.

The eyes of God are roaming the earth discerning the desires, intents and thoughts of the heart of man. These are the features of God:

  • He can see, hear and move in the lives of Man
  • Every other God is an idol
  • He has a plan to redeem His people
  • He orchestrated a path so that His power and might would be revealed through His people
  • He will make a way for you
  • What seems impossible with Man is possible with God
  • He has the power, ability and might to tear down every wall
  • No power can defeat our God
  • He is a God of great power and strength
  • He is with us in the midst of fire
  • If we stay true to God, He will stay close to us
  • When we stick with God there is a blessing that comes with our assignment
  • He has given his angels special charge over our lives
  • He is a deliverer of those who love Him
  • He is the answer to all who call upon Him
  • He is a giver of long life (Long life does not necessarily mean long years, but productive, fruitful life)
  • He is the same yesterday, today and forever
  • What He did before He can do for us today
  • He is ready and willing to do things to show His power ability and might
  • God is Almighty Rev:1-8; Ps. 91:1. We must praise Him for this redemption and we must also praise Him when He does something in our lives
  • He manifests Himself as ‘The Almighty’
  • He manifests Himself as our fortress therefore the enemy cannot touch us
  • He is our keeper
  • He is our vindicator Ps. 26:1
  • He is the beginning Rev.1.8. He inaugurated the start of the earth
  • He has the ability to start all over again. God said ‘Behold all things are become new’ 2 Cor.5:17. “The mercies of God never come to an end, they are new every morning” Lam. 3:23.
  • He is great in his faithfulness to us

You may start out feeling abandoned, but you will end up being adopted. It calls for determination to keep on keeping on. You will finish strong and victorious. You may have started broken, but you will end up being whole. You will be alright. This God:

  • He is the ending. Do not worry about your ending, God has that covered
  • He is the Vine (John 15:1-15) to whom you should be connected and you can trust in Him. You will bear good fruit. (You may ask yourself why you are not moving in your Christian life. The response is: get connected to the Vine)
  • He is our supplier of all good things.
  • He is God, the gentle whisperer. 1 Kings 19:12 When we fail to hear the whisper of God, we fail to be led.
  • He is our song. Isa.12:2 The joy of the Lord is our strength. If you lose your song, you lose your joy, then you lose your strength, then you lose your salvation, next you lose your life.

Trust this God.
