“2018 will be remembered as the year of the storm. The triumphs of this year’s victories will be blown by the church. In this year, God is releasing a sound through the church. Those who know their God will stand in the eye of the storm and will do great exploits. Babes will become battle axes as they abide in Me.”

The Lord’s desire is not just for a remnant but for a majority within the body of Christ. In the eye of the storm is where we must be. During that time, we must be a people who are not offended by the move of God. God is pouring out His new wine into a people who are ready and steady.

“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” Psalm 103:7 (NKJV)

We must walk in the realm where we participate in the acts of God. God made known His ways to Moses but His acts to the people. We must no longer be satisfied with just seeing signs, miracles, and wonders. These things must not be the source or the drive of why we come to church or why we live. God wants to invite us into a higher dimension where we are not just a participant but a people who understand the way of the Lord. We cannot just be fussy about seeing His move but we must be dwellers in His presence. God is calling us up higher in our relationship with Him.

James and John did not know the spirit that they were of (Luke 9:51-56). They did not understand the principles of Jesus. They had the power and the authority but they lost focus concerning the heart of God. In the midst of the storm, it is important that we rightly represent God. It is not about the signs, miracles, and wonders of God. It is about His ways and our relationship with Him. Power needs principle in order for there to be manifest presence. When we have power that is in alignment with the principles of who God is, then there is presence (Hebrews 6:1).

In this season, God will reveal those who are more concerned about His acts than His ways. Many of us are struggling in the flesh for wonders (Acts 8:9-25). There is something bigger than a sign and a wonder. Yes, casting out devils is good but there is something greater. God wants to invite us into the decisions of nations. He can’t do this if our hearts are not in the right place. God is refining His church. He is shaking us.

Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Jeremiah 6:16 (NKJV)

God was calling the people to get back on track. He was calling them to return to the ancient paths. The first thing that He said to them was to stand. In the New Year, the first thing we have to do is get up. It is important that we move with God and His timing. Many of us think that we are a failure because we have not accomplished goals based on our timing. However, God’s timing is different from ours.

Our vision is skewed when we are on the ground, when we are connected to earthly realities. However, when we stand in heavenly realities, we have a different vision. We begin to see differently. We have a higher perspective. When we stand, our perspective changes from being about ourselves to focusing on God.

God wants us to ask Him what He is doing in this season. He wants us to ask about the old paths. In this New Year, our prayer lives must be different. It must be a year of asking and seeking within the secret place. In Jeremiah 6, God also commanded them to walk in that reality. He is calling us to walk with Him in this New Year.
