15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:15-23 (NKJV)
The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the most powerful thing in history. If it had not been for the resurrection, the ministry of Jesus would have ended in death.
Apostle Paul prayed that he would know the power. He wants us to get acquainted with the power of God and see how it works so that when it is demonstrated, it will work effectively. We can know the power of God through wisdom and revelation. The Spirit of God will reveal the truth of God to us but it does not come by reading. God will open the eyes of our understanding. We can have knowledge without being wise but when we have wisdom, we will have knowledge. The power needs to be activated and this comes with the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
The resurrection power of God is exceedingly great. As the church, there is a need for us to have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. When Jesus raised the dead, they died again. However, when Jesus rose from the dead, He came out more powerful because all power was given to Him. This same power has been given to us. Therefore, we should not be afraid of the enemy. The enemy has to be afraid of us.
Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians that they would receive and experience the resurrection power of God. This power is available to us today to do the impossible. With God, all things are possible and we can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13). Sometimes, we forget that this power lives in us and we give worry a place in our lives. However, our mindsets need to change. We need to remember that God has given us power. We have the power. We just need to activate it. How do we activate this power? We activate this power by reading the Word and worshipping God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word (Romans 10:17, Matthew 17:20).
Expect God to challenge our faith because of the resurrection power in us. Everything may not be easy but if we believe God, everything that stands against us will fall. The power within us is greater than any sickness or disease. We can heal the sick, raise the dead and do signs, miracles and wonders.
The resurrection power empowers us to overcome. We are able to overcome any trial or struggle that comes our way (Romans 8:35-37, 2 Corinthians 4:8-10). Because of this resurrection power, Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of the Father. Remember we are victors, so we cannot let our struggles, trials and tribulations get the better of us because God has given us a power to overcome. Conquering should be our lifestyle.
There is a power in us that makes us stronger than we think (Ephesians 3:20). We have a position in Christ that is over all principalities and powers. There is no demonic spirit that can overcome us because we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We have been given the authority. We determine the outcome not the devil. The enemy has to respect us because we have the resurrection power. If we function in the resurrection power, we will see the supernatural in the earth.
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)
