Living According To Heaven Apostolic Convention Session 3
Every kingdom has it’s manifesto. The Pharisees were not just a religious order, they were also a political party. Jesus gave us a manifesto, His word.
16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:16-21
When Jesus referred to the poor, He was not speaking about spiritual poverty but material poverty. Every time the bible uses poor, it means material poverty. God is calling His church to change the order and then they will go into new dimensions of His glory. When you are poor, you don’t decide on anything, people decide for you. Unfortunately when money calls, you do everything to get there, but when God calls, you take your time.
It is not God’s desire for His children to be poor. Poverty is not of God. Abraham was the father of many nations and his blessing is upon us, God’s children. We are blessed financially. Children who say that Beyonce and Rihanna are their heroes then something is wrong. As a parent, you should be your child’s hero. If you aren’t, something is lacking. If we are suppose to be experiencing the presence of God, then why do we lack? When the Holy Spirit comes, we are renewed and transformed and brought to a place of influence.
6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God. 8 And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah[c] to this day. 9 David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” 10 So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household. 12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. 14 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet. 2 Samuel 6:6-15
One must reverence God in His presence. When God is speaking, we need to pay attention and take it to heart. In order for us to experience a prophetic move, we need to be serious. We can’t serve God and mammon. When we should be giving, we are always on the receiving end.
Every where we go, we must carry God’s glory. When we have little money, we turn our backs on God. When the glory comes on us, the world will know. The world will see that He is God. We are His vessels and channels that will be used to glorify Him and bless others. When God blesses us, He does it well. We are blessed not only spiritually but also financially.
