Our Independence Day – Apostle Ofodile Nzimiro

Men have been missing opportunities. Birthdays are where God gives man an opportunity to write his history. Today, our Independence Day is for us to correct the issues of life. There is no nation without a people. Our Independence is also our birthday. This is the day for us to correct our mistakes. This is the day for us to arise. It is the day of beginning where we reflect and visit our foundations.

And of Joseph he said: “Blessed of the Lord is his land, with the precious things of heaven, with the dew, and the deep lying beneath, with the precious fruits of the sun, with the precious produce of the months, with the best things of the ancient mountains, with the precious things of the everlasting hills, with the precious things of the earth and its fullness, and the favor of Him who dwelt in the bush. Let the blessing come ‘on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers. His glory is like a firstborn bull, and his horns like the horns of the wild ox; together with them He shall push the peoples to the ends of the earth; they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.” Deuteronomy 33:13-17

Every sun that shines over Barbados today will bring blessings. Every sun that shines will respond to us from today. Every night that we lie down, wisdom will lie down with us. The oath of Psalm 91 shall be upon us. God’s blessings shall continue to follow us. Prophecy is a spirit and when we agree with it, we marry it. We have to agree with scripture. Just as Joseph was blessed, so shall we and our nation be blessed.

The next prime minister of this nation, Barbados will be a prophet of the Lord who knows the future. God will choose a very wise person who will be like Moses. Moses saw the future. Men and women who don’t have a role in the future will be called home. God is going to remove some people.

The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:1-5

Before we were born in the earth, we were born in God. God had a plan and a purpose and He choose our parents and brought us forth. The covenant of our father and our mother has the ability to follow us. The story and the death of nations are connected to the loins and the womb. It is inside the womb that destiny is shaped. It wasn’t God’s intention that we would stray away as soon as we born and live in sin (Psalms 58:3). Man is the creation of God who was formed in Him. God had a purpose and a destiny for this man. Between the intent of God and the birth of man in the earth, what happened? Is it possible that Jeremiah didn’t know who he was? Why did God visit him? Today God is going to visit us.

Paul’s original name was Saul and he was known for persecuting the Church of Jesus Christ. Paul was consecrated from the womb of his mother (Galatians 1:15). What then confused his destiny that he began to persecute the church? Paul was chosen by God to bear His name (Acts 9:13-16). What happened that made Paul become a killer and walk contrary to the gospel that he preached afterwards?

On our birthday, we must take a gift to God because it is a renewing of our covenant with God. On our anniversary, we renew our covenant and our vows with God and we bring a gift. Behind every vow is a covenant (Proverbs 31:2). Our father and mother gave birth to us who did they make a vow and covenant with? Is it possible that the vows of a man and a woman can follow their children? Today is the opening of vows and we too can make a vow.

From today, the eyes of children will be open and they will have knowledge and wisdom. Today Barbados will have enlightenment of the knowledge of God. The women are about to birth something new. We can undo what was done in the past. When the women begin to groan, from now on our son and daughters will not be living in the dust. They will become signs and wonders. They will become disciples that others will copy. There will be a new generation of people and leaders who will know heaven and who will be filled with the Holy Ghost. They will become solution finders. Our children will be excellent in school. They will be so full of God that it will be impossible for them to backslide. We are going to birth a nation that is full of wisdom (Proverbs 24:13-14). God’s expectations for Barbados are going to come alive. The women are going to birth a new generation who will reject evil and choose good (Isaiah 7:14-15). When evil appears before them, they will run from it. It is our season and it is a time of change. Every form of barrenness shall be broken.

And said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.” They said, “Do as you have said.” So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.” And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate. Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “Here, in the tent.” 10 And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.) 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” Genesis 18:3-12

The Lord will make a covenant with us and He will multiply this land exceedingly. God is about to give us a new name just as He gave Abram a new one (Genesis 17:1-16). Today favour will be birthed in Barbados. When Abraham gave those gifts, the birthing came forth. God will remember us. He will remember what He created us to be. According to this day, God is returning back to Barbados through us. We will be symbols and the reality of that blessing. The women are going to give birth to a new nation. Do we believe in what God is saying and is going to do in us? Every prayer that we pray for Barbados will become possible.

The words ‘independence’ and ‘jubilee’ mean the same thing. This is our 48th year and we are giving birth to our jubilee. This independence day is the appointed time. This nation is beginning to arise from the dust and will begin to fly.

Salt refers to our worth. We are the salt and the light of the earth. When salt loses its savour, it will be trampled upon but we will no longer be trampled upon. The glory shall never deposit from this house (Isaiah 4:4-6). This year that we have entered is the year of wind.

A vow and a strange covenant can make a man lame from his mother’s womb (Acts 3:1-2). We will no longer be crippled. Every vow and covenant that was made that caused this nation to be crippled are broken! It is a new beginning for Barbados. God will build a tabernacle for us. God is with us in whatever we do (Genesis 21:22).
