If we are truly to live according to heaven, we have to live in obedience. We have to break free from religion. We are called to live above it. Religion takes us away from the kingdom. It does not bring abundant living. Are we living an abundant life? Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. Our Christian life shouldn’t be boring. If it is, we are living by another standard. Our lives should make the world jealous.

We cannot live a successful Christian life in wealth if we are living from a religious perspective. They only we can live a successful life is freedom from religion. When we get wealth, it will determine if we are living a Christian life or a religious one. Wealth must not control us but we must control it. Many times we take the word of God and twist it to our religious beliefs. Jesus was not against wealth. He spoke about our attitude toward it. We must not come to a place where wealth becomes our god.

We can’t serve God and wealth (Luke 16:13). One can have wealth and still understand that there treasure is in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21). A wealthy kingdom person realizes that their focus is on the advancement of the Kingdom. We must have the right perspective and attitude toward wealth.

And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” Luke 12:15

God wants us to be in a place where we can impact the nation not only through the gospel but through wealth. Wealth must never become our god. We must be careful of our attitude towards it.

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 2 Corinthians 9:6-11

Our purpose in life is to please God and to live in obedience. Walking in obedience means that we break every mentality of poverty. When we give, God will reward us. God comes through for us. With Him, all things are possible. Out of our obedience, God honours us. Out of our faithfulness, God rewards us. When God sets us up, He puts us in a situation where we have to choose between what we want and what God wants. When He sets us up for a harvest, He puts us in a place of sacrifice.
