The Power Of A Transformed Life Part 10

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)

In Luke 7:36-50, the story of the woman and the alabaster box is told. The difference between the Pharisee and the woman was that they both heard Jesus preach, heal and demonstrate miracles but for one, the encounter with Jesus was more dramatic. It is possible for us to come to church every day but yet still not have a powerful encounter that transforms and changes our lives.

The Kingdom of Heaven is likened to ten virgins who went to meet the bridegroom (Matthew 25). The virgins were saved, even baptized in the Holy Spirit. However, five were wise and others were foolish. It is possible for us to find ourselves in the class of those who are foolish even though we may be receiving sound teaching and doctrine. We have to ask ourselves, ‘have we truly been transformed?’. We have to examine our lives and examine our growth and maturity. In eternity, we will have to give an account of our lives and what we have done. We don’t know the time or the hour when Jesus will return. We need to be ready.

The Pharisee was contented with having Jesus as an acquaintance and teacher. On the other hand, the woman received Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. As a result, she give away her most costly possession. She had something going on in her heart that provoked her to sacrifice and to worship Jesus.

Transformation is our responsibility. We have to take personal responsibility for our walk in the Lord. There must be a revelation of who Jesus is and what He has done in our lives. He is holy and pure. There is none other like Him.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV)

We can do so many things for God and yet still not have a relationship with Him. What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose the world? We will be held accountable.
