(December 28, 2013)
Josh.1:11 Pass through the camp . . . possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.
The Lord says that within three days you will be crossing over, but this is just the beginning. (The river Jordan, 2 Kings: 5, has been an affront to many as it is not a pretty river. Naaman did not want to wash in it as the prophet Elisha advised him to because it was dirty.) There have been issues of healing that you have been believing God for that will be released in three days. Everything that opposed your intimacy with God will be left behind. Intimacy with God is yours.
The Lord has not forgotten you. Within three days, blessings will be yours. There will be judgment on your enemy and blessings on you. It is about hearing, receiving and applying what was said to you. You are crossing over Jordan to possess the land that God has given you.
In 2013, wilderness and wandering comes to an end. There must be certainty in your heart about the things God has called you to do.
Josh. 3:5 “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow [I] will do wonders among you.” In order to possess the land and conquer Jericho, you must have a place in your life called Gilgal. The giant that has been around you will be no more. Do not be part of the old wineskin or you will be called home.
Gilgal- to set up stones; to roll away.
Gilgal represents the spiritual place that you set up between you and God.
Josh. 4-9 & 19-24 Joshua placed 12 stones at Gilgal as a reminder that God had delivered the Israelites. At the end of all his battles, Joshua returned to Gilgal.
Five things are needed to possess the land and these are as follows:
1. You must have an altar in your life called Gilgal-a place of remembrance. In this year, in order for you to increase, you must decrease. You must let go of certain things and let them die Zech.3:1-4. God will provide what is necessary to execute the answer.
David wrote Psalm 27 as a reminder of God’s greatness in his life. It represents His provision for us. John 15:4 God will provide as long as I abide.
Josh. 5:9 Israel’s reproach was rolled away at Gilgal.
2. You must circumcise your heart. Gilgal is a place of circumcision; a place where the excess flesh is cut off or where one is set apart as being different. (The Jews circumcised their new-born to show that they were different; they were set apart unto God.)
3. You must stay on the Vine. Gilgal is a place of richness Josh. 5:10. This is the year when the manna will cease for you and you will move into a place of greatness. So abide in Jesus; stay on the Vine; allow Him to look into every area of your life and your blessings will flow.
4. You must allow God to reveal His strategy for battle, for your ministry, for your business, for that which He has called you to do. Indeed, Gilgal is a place of reconnaissance Josh.5:13; Josh. 10:6-9. You will be granted divine leadership.
5. You must reverence God, as Gilgal is a place of reverence. Josh. 5:15 God told Joshua to remove his sandal. This represents removal of one’s soulish nature; the removal of one’s desire to have one’s own way and the subjection of one’s will to God’s will.
