Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:1-2 (NKJV)
We are hidden in Christ in God. We are at the center of His heart and are called to be participants with Christ to carry out His work. Through this, God receives the glory. This glory is seen through us, His people.
6 “The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain. 7 Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates. 8 See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’ Deuteronomy 1:6-8
The Lord spoke to the people of Israel regarding the time they dwelt at the mountain of Sinai. God appeared before the people in His glory. However, the people were afraid and didn’t want to go. They sent Moses instead. In spite of this, God’s desire was not for the people to dwell in this glory but to move from glory to glory. He wants us to desire more. He wants us to desire the greater.
God commanded the people to turn and move from their place of comfort. There will be times where we will have to endure conflict and trials but it is all a process that we must go through to grow and develop. God already has a plan for us that He has set up. We do not need to try and figure it out.
There are many things that God will command us to do that we will not understand. However, we must be obedient. God knows what He is doing and it is all for our good.
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1 Corinthians 3:9-15 (NKJV)
It’s time to move from your mountain. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are. It’s time to turn. We can only turn if our foundation is rooted in Christ. We can only turn if we have an encounter with God. We encounter Him through His Word and not only reading it but living it. It is our prayer that God would give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him that the eyes of understanding would be enlightened.
