The Power Of A Transformed Life Part 13
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)
Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. Revelations 2:20 (NKJV)
God does not want us to tolerate the things of Jezebel. God is a man of war and He expects His children to be children of war. Jezebel is doing her dirty stuff and the church is allowing it and tolerating it. There should be no toleration of Jezebel and her works.
God has ordained authority and structure for a reason within the church. Therefore, we should not give ourselves titles because we think we have the ability to perform a task. We run ourselves into problems when we don’t submit ourselves to God’s delegated authority. You might have the gift of prophecy but there is still a need to submit it to the elders. If you are called to be a Prophet, God will raise you to be a Prophet but it is in His own timing.
The Word of God should become our focus. When it is our focus, we wouldn’t allow the things of Jezebel to have a place in our lives. The spirit of Jezebel desires to shut down our communication with God and to draw us away. This is a stumbling block that seduces us into sexual immorality (Proverbs 7). It is a spirit that does not submit to authority and is fiercely independent. Jezebel had two main agendas, to kill the prophets and to control the king (1 Kings 19:1-16). The spirit of Jezebel seeks to control the king in us through intimidation, manipulation and domination. Jezebel’s assignment is to release negative words over our lives to keep us in fear. Through fear, isolation comes. When we have a strong relationship with Christ, fear and isolation will not have power over us.
We need to lay down our ambitions and surrender to God. We can’t manipulate, dominate and intimidate because we want to have our own way. We have to take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Him. On the cross, Jesus triumph over principalities and powers. God wants us to take up our positions as kings in the earth with dominion and influence.
